How do reward points work in cash games?
You earn reward points when you contribute money to the pot.
The number of points you receive depends on the rake you generate in each hand.
At PokerStars:
- 100 reward points for every $1 in rake
- 110 reward points for every €1 in rake
Who earns reward points in a cash game hand?
Only players who contribute money to the pot earn reward points.
- Players who call or raise are eligible
- Players who fold without contributing do not earn points
How are reward points split between players in a hand?
Reward points are split based on each player’s contribution to the pot.
- Points are distributed proportionally
- The more you contribute, the larger your share
Example: How reward points are calculated in a hand
Example 1: $1 rake
- Total rake: $1 → 100 reward points
Scenario:
- Player A: $20
- Player B: $20
- Player C: folds
- Total pot: $40
Allocation:
- Player A: 50 points (50%)
- Player B: 50 points (50%)
- Player C: 0 points
Example 2: $2 rake
- Total rake: $2 → 200 reward points
Scenario:
- Player A: $40
- Player B: $40
- Player C: folds
- Total pot: $80
Allocation:
- Player A: 100 points (50%)
